AKIECONGD – PERÚ

Transforming lives in the Peruvian Amazon

Education, health, nutrition and sustainable development alongside our communities.

About us

We work hand in hand with communities

AKIEC is a non-governmental development organization (NGO) in Peru, committed since 2021 to the education, health and sustainable development of Amazonian communities, especially the poorest and most excluded families.

It was born from the story of its founder, Dr. Demetrio Villacorta, who was born in an Indigenous Yagua community in the Peruvian Amazon. Thanks to people who believed in him, he was able to study and become a doctor, and since 1985 he has stayed committed to the communities he comes from. Today that mission continues through AKIEC.
